Zelenskyy Details Coordinated Diplomatic Push After Peace Talks
Zelenskyy described the briefing with Ukrainian delegation chief Rustem Umerov and US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff as “important,” emphasizing that the respective teams would now synchronize their timetables for face-to-face follow-up sessions.
The Ukrainian president noted that he and Macron engaged in several hours of dialogue in Paris, concentrating on strategies to bring the war to an end and to secure enduring assurances for both Ukraine and the broader European region.
“Peace must become truly durable … much now depends on the involvement of every leader,” he said, stressing the necessity of broad international participation.
Zelenskyy underscored the extensive European involvement in the discussions — comprising France, the UK, Germany, Poland, Italy, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, the European Commission, the European Council, and NATO’s secretary general — characterizing this format as an effective mechanism for harmonizing stances ahead of upcoming gatherings.
He stated that the group reviewed the core elements of the Florida talks with the American side and mutually agreed that movement is essential toward a “fair end” to the conflict.
Separately, Umerov wrote on Facebook that he had spoken with Zelenskyy following his return from two days of “very productive” conversations in the US.
He mentioned “significant progress,” while acknowledging that several matters still need additional fine-tuning.
