Norway’s Leaders Admit “Poor Judgment” Over Ties to Epstein

(MENAFN) Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store stated on Sunday that Crown Princess Mette-Marit and former Prime Minister Thorbjorn Jagland demonstrated "poor judgment" following fresh revelations regarding their connections to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

"The Crown Princess herself has stated that she has shown poor judgment, which I agree with. I also believe that Thorbjorn Jagland has done so," Store told a broadcaster.

Responding to Store’s comments, Jagland wrote to a newspaper confirming that he shared the prime minister’s view and acknowledged he had "shown poor judgment" by maintaining contact with Epstein. "I would never have had this contact if I knew what we know now," he added.

After the US Justice Department made the latest Epstein-related documents public on Friday, Mette-Marit admitted on Saturday that she should have examined Epstein’s background more carefully.

"I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take. I showed poor judgment and regret ever having any contact with Epstein. It is simply embarrassing," she said.

The newly released documents revealed that Mette-Marit had maintained years of correspondence with Epstein, met him on multiple occasions, and even borrowed his residence in 2013.

In addition, Mette-Marit conveyed her "deep sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the abuse committed by Jeffrey Epstein."

The unsealed court papers from a US federal court also disclosed the names of various global leaders, royals, billionaires, and other influential figures who were connected to the disgraced financier.
